  2. Barefoot Running The Way It Was Meant To Be

    December 31, 2011 by jay

For most of human history, barefoot running was {nearly universal. Now, it is {something of a rarity in any of the industrialised nations around the world, where shoes are not only easily obtained, there is a bit of a stigma attached to, going {without.

Barefoot running is {exactly what it {sounds like; It is running while barefoot, with no coverings to dampen the sensory feedback from the soles and toes of the foot, not to be {confused with minimalist running that {utilises very thin-soled, flexible shoes or moccasins. Joe Addison a personal trainer Brighton is an enthusiast and regular barefoot runner.

In western cultures in the 20th century, running barefoot first began to make a resurgence in 1960, when Abebe Bikila won the Olympic marathon in Rome, barefoot. He {discovered that the shoes which were issued to his team, hurt his feet, so he opted to go without.

Now in the first days of the 21st century, it has gained a small but {devoted following in the running community. Publications like, Christopher McDougall’s book, Born to Run, as well as groups like the Barefoot Runner’s Society, have actively {increased public awareness of the practice. Many shoe {Manufacturers have even begun to {produce barefoot-inspired foot ware with a minimum of padding on the soles that serve only as a barrier to protect the skin of the foot, but do not impede the natural gate of running.

The {science of barefoot running is {rather eloquent in its simplicity. Basically it states that; unshod is the way nature intended human beings to run a fact that Joe also teaches when personal training Brighton. There has been a great deal of biomechanical research that {supports this theory in ways we wouldn’t have guessed even a few decades ago. When a runner, wearing a modern running shoe, connects with the {ground under foot, it occurs heel first. This can send a jarring impact up the leg that will usually lead to shin spinets in the leg as well as knee and hip trouble. In the past, this problem has been addressed by placing various shock absorbing materials into the heels of running shoes. It {sounds like a good solution until you study how this changes the form of the runner; it {virtually guarantees that the heel hill strike first and much harder than normal.

It would seem that, the easiest solution lays in {studying the way the human foot functions when freed of shoes. The foot itself is a remarkably effective shock absorber in its own rite. When a runner, {without shoes, connects with the {ground it is usually in a {motion {exactly{ where the forefoot strikes the {ground first, then the mid foot and finally the heel. {almost all of the impact is absorbed and redirected into {motion {before it reaches as far as the ankle.

Whether you are a seasoned running enthusiast or have just begun to consider {Implementing running into your workout routine, the {science {supports barefoot running as a healthy alternative to expensive running shoes and may well prevent injury in the long run. However it is important to remember that one should change {slowly so as not to cause an injury due to the unfamiliar {motion.

For more information speak to Joe Addison a leading Personal Trainer in Brighton.

  3. How to Create Your Online Dating Profile}

    December 31, 2011 by jay

Online dating profiles can give you a sense of a person before you take any actions.  For instance, you can see what they look like, how old they are, what their profession is, and what their hobbies and interests are.  You can either be proactive and contact the people who meet your fancy yourself or put your profile out there and wait for them to contact you.  Either way, online dating profiles make it easier to find someone who is right for you, this is especially true on free dating sites .

Here are some tips} to help you build a better online dating profiles that will help you attract as many dating partners as possible.

    Too many people use their timidness about using online dating profiles services in a negative fashion.  They say “I wasn’t sure about this, but…”  This doesn’t leave a positive feeling for potential partners.}

Next, you want to be unique.  Too many people say they want “long walks on the beach at sunset.”  Try to stand out}.  One way to do this is to use the word “because.”  For {example, instead of saying you like country music in your online dating profiles, tell people you like the music “because it speaks to the small town boy that I am.” Go through your profile sentence by sentence and see how you can make yourself unique.

Don’t be generic.  Everyone thinks they are honest, creative and spontaneous.  Give examples of how you live these values in real life.  Tell stories.

Don’t fill your profile with sexual innuendos unless you are prepared for a lot of one night stands.  People who are looking for long term relationships are turned off by these comments.

You can also use your online dating profiles to keep people who you don’t want to date from contacting you.  Be specific about what you want.  Don’t be afraid to specify the age group, professional status, looks, and temperament of your potential date.  Also, be descriptive. For instance, tell a man that you would like him to romance you by going to a farmer’s market followed by a stay at a bed and breakfast in a small, picturesque town.  Spend at least one third of the profile specifying who you are looking for.

Change your online dating profiles often.  Add photos and details of your life.  This will push people who were on the edge of asking you out over the edge to actually do so.  It will also bring people to your profile who might otherwise have missed you.

Think about the short introduction you would make if you were meeting someone at a singles bar.  While you wouldn’t have the benefit of thinking about it ahead of time, you would try to impress the person.  With online services, you do have the chance to think about it.  That’s how come you can make the best of your online dating profiles.

  4. {Acai Berries Are The New Superfruit

    December 31, 2011 by jay

{Berries and {chocolate. Generally {a great combination, {right? What if {there was a {berry that had {a cocoa {flavor in it? {Well as {nature would have it, {there is. This {extraordinarily nutritious {berry is called the {acai berry (pronounced a-sigh-ee). {While it doesn?t exactly {taste like {pure chocolate, {the bitterness {of cacao {is incorporated into acai?s {intense flavor. {The flavor is actually {hard to pinpoint {as some of {its juices {have been compared to {bitter raspberries while others {claim acai {produces a salty aftertaste ({like say, olives.) {Ok, I’m {the one that said that. {But the flavor {is not the only {thing that makes {acai so {unique, andersen windows.

From the {rainforests of the Amazons, {acai berries have been {consumed by Brazilians {for centuries. But {recently, more and more {of these grape-sized berries {are falling {from the South {American palm trees {into juice {bottles around the world.

{Labeled the {antioxidant superfood, it?s {known for its {substantially large amounts {of antioxidants {and nutritional value. {Acai has {double the cancer-fighting power {of blueberries, the {formerly known {antioxidant contest {frontrunner. Consumption of {the berry {not only helps prevent {and attack {cancerous cells, {but it is said to {boost energy {and overall {immunity as well. {Actually, the list {of supposed {and even validated {benefits is {virtually endless {from improved {digestion to better {circulation, and even {better sleep. {It is based on {these extraordinary {characteristics that {acai has been {referred to as the most {healthful fruit {in the world.

    But, {if you?re a {juice producer {looking for a new venture, {many juice {and smoothie {producers have already {jumped the {gun on {capitalizing on the {healthful fruit. {While the trend {is still fairly {recent, grocery store {shelves are already {well stocked {with the likes {of organic {acai juices, {yogurt drinks, {smoothies, and even {teas.

    And the {bottles of these {products make {many a pretty {promise. I?m actually {drinking an ?Organic {Acai Antioxidant {Superfood Smoothie? right now {that claims it?s {sufficient for a {meal replacement. {Is that true? {Well, it {sure seems to {satisfy my {nutritional needs {as the Nutrition {Facts label {shows sufficient {amounts of protein, {carbohydrates, fat, {potassium and even omega-3 {fatty acids! And?actually it?s the only thing I?ve {eaten today {so far and I don?t {think I?m hungry! {Maybe this stuff {really does work (Don?t {try this at home {though folks, {acai shouldn?t be the only {thing you eat {all day.)

Acai {has also shown {promises of {preventing heart disease, {as it has 10-30 {times the amount of cardiovascular-fighting phytochemical {called anthocyanin found in {red wine. You may have {heard of these phytochemicals {from the French Paradox {that enumerates the oddity {of heart disease?s {rare occurrence {in France {despite their {high fat intake. {The concept bears {the phytochemicals in the red {wine responsible for {their continued {health.

With all {these benefits {filling the air, {the fruit {sounds perfect {right? Well {I’m not here {to tell you {that it isn’t, {but I am {here to tell {you to be cautious about {how much acai {you consume. There is {such a thing as an {antioxidant overdose that has {adverse effects such as {weakness, fever {and toxicity. {So, with a {fruit so jam-packed {with antioxidants, {one must be {careful. Experts {suggest discussing {with your doctor what your optimum dosage {of antioxidants {is.

  5. True Value of Article Submissions

    December 30, 2011 by jay

    {The True {Value of {Article {Submissions

    {There are many {people {on the {forums {and even {gurus {selling {courses {teaching you {how to use {article {submissions {to boost {traffic {and get {higher {rankings. {Although {I can’t {say {I’ve {personally {looked at {the {courses, {many of the {forum {posts {seem to {lead you to {believe that {just by {writing {an article {a day {and {submitting {it {to the {search engines {you’ll {magically {get lots {of {traffic.

    {Having {done {article {submissions {myself, {I have to {say {I’m {somewhat {skeptical {about the {value.

    {Article {Submissions {For {Traffic

    {One of the benefits {of {article marketing {is that {apparently {you can get a {lot of {referral {traffic {from the {big {directories. {I’m not sure {about you, {but I {can’t {remember the {last time {I {saw {EzineArticles {or any other {directory {in the {search results {for a particular {search {I {made. {That has to {beg {the {question, {how are you {going to get {referral {traffic {if the {article {directory {isn’t {getting traffic ({apart from {Webmasters {who are {submitting articles).

    {Even if the {directory {did get {some {traffic, {click throughs {on the {author {bio {link {tend to be {around 5% ({if you are {lucky), {so {even a {thousand {people {seeing {your {article {is going to {send you {just {50 {visitors. {It doesn’t {seem {worth it {to me! {There are {only {4 or 5 {large {directories {that get {any {significant {traffic {so {even if you {do get {your {article {published {on {hundreds of {sites, {they don’t {get any {traffic.

    {Articles: SEO

    {This is {one of {my {biggest gripes {about {article marketing, {even if you {submit {100 {articles {to {Ezine Articles, {the biggest {directory {on the net {and with the {most {authority, {it still {only {really {counts {as one {link {because the {domain {and {IP {is the same. {You get {very little, {if {any {benefit from {having {100 {articles {linking {to the {same {site. {Want {more {proof? {Look at {some of the {big {online {forums, {people have {thousands upon thousands {of {posts, {most of them {have {links {in their signatures. {If the {search engines {counted {each {link {then {you’d {get {top {rankings {easily, {but you {don’t.

    {Furthermore, {if you {submit {the same {article {to {hundreds of {directories, {Google {has a {duplicate {content {filter {which {discounts {pages {with the same {content.  Hours {of work {might be {thus {wasted {as {Google {ignores {the vast majority of {sites {with your {links {on them. {To make it {work, {you have to {submit {unique {articles {to each {directory, {which can be {a time {consuming {or {expensive {process.

    {Articles {For {Syndication

    {There is a {suggestion {that article {marketing {will {somehow {gain {you {hundreds of {links {without {lifting {a {finger {because there are {desperate {website owners {eager to {put {your {article {on their {site. {Now {in my experience, {and {talking to {other SEO {analysts, {although {your {article {does {end up {on {other people’s {websites, {they tend {to remove {your {bio {link {or {put {a {nofollow {attribute {in the {link, {rendering it {useless {from {an how to seo {point of view!

    {The way {I tend to {use {articles {is for {each {site {write {4 {unique {articles {and {submit {it {to the {four {main {directories. {Then I {social {bookmark {them to {the dofollow {social {bookmark {sites {and {take {no {further {action {after that {because it’s {not {worth the extra time.

  6. Permanent {Makeup: {Save Time, {Money, and Always Look Your Greatest

    December 30, 2011 by jay

    {Because we {have to {look our best. {Going to {work, to {school, or {even to {lunch {without {makeup on {just isn’t an option.

    The {choice is {simple—{spend {hours {applying {makeup, or {start the day feeling {insecure and unattractive.

    But {what if I {told you {that there was {another option?

    {Well… there is.

    {Let me {tell you {about {permanent {cosmetics. {Permanent {cosmetic {makeup is a {state of the art {form of {cosmetic tattooing. The {specialized {techniques {used for {permanent {cosmetics are {often {referred to as “micropigmentation”, “micropigment implantation” or “dermagraphics”. The {cosmetic {makeup implantation {technique deposits {tiny {individual implants of pigment into the dermal {layer of the skin.

    {Permanent {cosmetics and {makeup {procedures are {performed {using {various {machines and methods, {including the {traditional (or {specialized) tattoo or coil {machines, the pen or rotary {machine and the non-machine or {hand method.

    {Permanent {cosmetics {procedures {include the {initial consultation, {initial {application of pigment, and {usually one or two {follow up visits for {adjusting the {shape and {color or {density of the pigment.

    {When {your {treatment is complete, you’re {free—no {more {spending {hours {each {morning in {front of {your mirror! {You can {stop {worrying {about smudges. You don’t {have to {worry about drinking water {washing {your {makeup away.

  7. Be sure to look natural

    December 30, 2011 by jay

    {Ok, {I’m not {talking about

    wandering {around

    {with no

    {clothes on, by

    {natural I {mean {don’t do {anything {that is {going to

    {look spammy or unnatural {to the {search engines. {Although {this is a

    {hot {topic of

{discussion {between how to seo analysts {as they {debate how

{aware is Google and do they know {when

    we {are trying {to manipulate it, {I think {it’s

    {always {best to

    {assume that Google has an

    {idea when {it’s {being manipulated. With that in {mind,

    {avoid

    {making {the following {mistakes when

    optimizing {your site:

    {Building {Thousands of

    {Links

    Overnight {Although the {name {of the {game is

    {undoubtedly {to build {more {links than your {competitors, {the search engines {probably {have a

    {good {idea {what is {a reasonable {amount of time {to get {a certain {number

    of {links. {If you {use a {service that

    {promises tens of {thousands of

    {links

    {instantly, {and you {use it on {a new {website, how

    {natural {is it {for a new {site {to get {so many

    {links so

    {quickly? {Unless

    {your site is

    {being {reported on by

    {major

    media {sites, commanding the {front {page {of

    the {biggest

    social bookmarking {sites and {being {mentioned across {thousands of

    {blogs, {the search engines {know that no

    {site {instantly

    {gets {so many {links. {Link building is {like

    the Tortoise and Hare story,

    {steady and

    {consistent wins the race {every

    time.

    {Building {2 or {3 {quality {links {every day {is

going to {pay off {far better than

    {submitting to {thousands of directories

    {in a {matter of days. Not {Varying The Anchor Text {At

some point the budding Webmaster discovers that {to improve the {significance {of the {link, {they must {include {the desired {keyword

{in the anchor text and {almost immediately sets off

    {using their {main {keyword

    in {all the

    {back links. {However, {although {this technique {works

    {very {well, {it

    has been {shown by

    {many {Seo analysts

    {on the internet {forums that {using {the same

    text {over and {over {again {is likely {to get {your site pushed down

    in {to the sandbox or

{worse, banned. {A website which builds

    {links

{naturally does so {over time and

    {with a {variety of {keywords {in the anchor text {because {hundreds of {people {will have {their own

    {ideas {on how to {link {to your {site. Some will {use the {full URL, {others

{may say “this site” {and other

    {people {may just

say “click {here {to visit the site”. {Make sure you {vary the anchor

text {keywords and {ensure that you use some

    {words {people will

    {naturally use. Launching a {Site With {Thousands of Pages {I’ve

    {seen {a number

    of {people

    {selling ‘ready made’

    {websites which {include tens of {thousands of

pages straight off the bat. {How many

    {legitimate {websites {do you know of that

    {start out {life with {that many pages? {I’m guessing

    none. {Websites {naturally

    {grow {over time and yours {should do {too. {Besides {wanting to {look

    {natural, {the search engines will {rarely index

    {that many pages {of a new {website, {and even

    {established {sites might only obtain a

    highest possible of {500

    pages indexed.

  8. {7 Professional Party Planner Tricks for Clearing plus Cleaning After a big Food

    December 30, 2011 by jay

    {It is always fun {to plan {an elaborate {party and {see it {come to life. However, {in addition to the pre-work {of the party, afterwards {always comes {the drudgery {of the after {meal clean-up, {including clearing {the table {and washing {up the {dishes. Here {are some {professional party planning {tips for dealing {with your after {meal clean-up {and dish washing {to help make {your life a Commission Autopilot {bit easier.

Tip #1  Devise {a simple plan {ahead of time on {how you will {deal with such {issues as {storing your leftover {food items, dishwashing, {and trash {disposal. If {you will be keeping leftover {food items for {your family to eat {at a later {time, then {make sure you have enough {of the right {sized bowls {and platters {to store {them on {in your refrigerator. If {you will be sending {leftovers home with {other people {take the time to {purchase some {appropriate disposable containers {which you can {give to them {and not have {to worry about {them being {returned. For {the dishwashing {component, decide {ahead of your {meal which {items can {go in your dishwasher {and which {cannot. For {your trash {and recyclable {items, have {bags inside {containers placed {at strategic {locations around {your home. Assign someone {to look at them {from time to time and {empty them {when necessary.

Tip #2  {One of the best things {you can do to make {your life easier post-meal is {to start off with {a clean {kitchen and {refrigerator. The {day before {your party {take the time to {clean out {your refrigerator {and remove {all unnecessary clutter {from your kitchen {and countertops. By {doing this {Commission Autopilot {you will be able to {work on your {counter tops and {easily clean {them. In {addition, you {will be able to simply {open the {refrigerator to {store things {without having to move {things around {to make room.

Tip #3  Another  {one of the best things {you can do for yourself {is to clean {up your {dishes and messes {as you are preparing {the meal {itself. Your goal {should be to sit down {at the table {with your guests, with {as little waiting {in the kitchen {to be cleaned up {as possible. By {doing this, you can {ensure that the {only dishes which {will have to dealt {with are {those which are sitting {on your table.

Tip #4  {Once your {meal has concluded {is the time where {you should gather up {all of the dishes {from the table, {scrape them, start soaking {them in water {while you continue {to clear {the table {of leftovers, and {then wash {all of your dishes either {in the dishwasher or {by hand. While {it is always very {tempting to {let the {dishes sit {until your {guests have {gone home, {you will find the {work is {much easier {if you do it {right away at {the conclusion of {the meal. {While you are clearing {off the table {gather up {any leftovers {and immediately {put them {into containers {and into {your refrigerator {for safety.

Tip #5  {It is polite {for people to ask {to help clean-up {after the conclusion {of a meal. Allow your {friends and family {to help you out. This {will make your clean-up {go much {quicker and {smoother. It {will also {allow you to get {back to enjoying {your company {as soon as possible.

Tip #6  {Your party day {is not the {time to deal {too much with what {goes in your dishwasher {and what {you hand {wash. Things {which are dishwasher {safe should {go in the dishwasher, and when {it is completely full {that is the time {you should start {hand washing {what is left. Hand {washing while {everything is soaking {makes it a {very easy task, and {your hand {washed dishes {can then rest {on a drying rack {while you {get back to your {party and {guests.

Tip #7  {If you find {a pot {which is very miserable {to wash and doesnt {want to come {clean, let {it soak overnight {with a solution {of baking {soda and {dish soap. This will {allow it to be easily cleaned {the next morning.

    While {clearing the {table and {washing dishes {is never {the most fun {part of a {party, it  {can be relatively {simple and {pain free when {you incorporate {the tips {above.

  9. Walking Ben Nevis

    December 29, 2011 by jay

Ben Nevis at almost 1400m (4500ft) is the tallest mountain in the UK and dominates the scenery of Fort William and Lochaber renowned for being the UK’s capital for outdoor pursuits. Ben Nevis is located at the top of Loch Linnhe and a great place to base your self would be Ashburn House which is a bed and breakfast Fort William situated on the water’s edge.

Ben Nevis gained its name from its fearful nature and was referred to in early days as being evil and poisonous which translates as “Nibheis” in Gaelic. With the Gaelic for mountain being “Beinn” the igneous rock giant gained the name Beinn Nibheis or Ben Nevis. The mountain is spoken of by locals and regular visitors as merely “Ben”.

The mountain is not as high as most of the Alpine mountains but although temperatures are reasonably mild at Loch Linnhe’s sea level altitude once moving higher up Ben Nevis the winds increase and the temperatures drop dramatically with conditions changing frequently. Ben Nevis can be very challenging for inexperienced walkers and it is recommended to stick to the mountain paths.

The most popular mountain footpath runs from Achintee and is used by a huge number of walkers year after year. This path will take you around four hours to go up and and three hours to descend again. It is possible to arrange private guides for Ben Nevis and we recommend you ask the hosts at your Fort William accommodation for their recommendations.

At the summit of Ben Nevis are the ruin of the old Ben Nevis Observatory which first came into service on 17 October 1883 to provide meteorological information and remained manned for 20 years regardless of the extreme winter weather conditions.

Every year the Ben Nevis Race takes places on the first Saturday of September and up to 500 experienced hill runners are allowed to enter. Anyone that successfully completes 21 races is awarded the Connochie Plaque the first being in 1972.

Over the years Ben Nevis has become very popular with people walking it for charity either as a single challenge or as part of the well known Three Peaks Challenge which involves walking three of the UK’s highest mountains within 24 hours.

Many people arrive at Ben Nevis thinking that it has a cable car but unfortunately this is not the case. There is a cable car but this is on another mountain named Aonach Mor and is part of the Nevis Range which offers a year round activity centre. If you take the cable car right to the top of Aonach Mor you are rewarded with an excellent view of Ben Nevis.

After an exhilarating and strenuous day on the mountains you’re likely to need somewhere to rest your weary body and Ashburn House which is a 5-star Fort William B&B is an excellent choice.
